There I was trapped at the bottom of the ocean not knowing what to do. Then all of a sudden i started getting pulled up by this type of metal rope attached to the cage I was stuck in. I was at the surface of the ocean when i got put into another box it was dark and i was by myself I got scared. Something picked up the box and we started to move. Then when i looked up the lid opened and there were a bunch of people looking at me I am young and have not got to see the world yet so this is all new to me when.Splash!
I was put into what was like a box except you could see through the walls and you could see a lot of people. Coming and going here and there almost everybody stopping to look at me when the first people came I got scared but when they pet me i feel there soft hands on my head and tentacles. I started liking it so I got used to people coming and going. But then i remembered i haven't seen the world yet i wanted to explore i was curious, so one night one of the people left my lid open a little bit I was able to squeeze three i didn't want to leave I liked the people.
I thought about it while i was squeezing three the crack and I decided that i would go explore the world so i went to where i always saw water get sucked in and i went in it. Then i knew it leaded straight to the ocean now I will be traveling around the world and hopefully get caught again to start a new adventure.

  3. Just Curious
Hello, I am known as Inky the Octopus. And I just want to clear something up, I did NOT escape the National Aquarium in New Zealand. I may not have bones, but I sure do have a brain. I got curious about what the outside world is like and then slipped away! It was the middle of the night and I thought that it was the right time to strike. Then I got out and went into the ocean. It was amazing! I met all kinds of other octopi like me and new fish friends. Now I am in California having fun with squids and dolphins. Maybe one day I’ll come back to that shop in New Zealand where I grew up...

  5. Octopi Have Thoughts Too, By Genna Valdez

You know, everyone has feelings, thoughts, and their own personality. Even octopi! Hi, my name is Inky. I’m from the National Aquarium in New Zealand, and today in the kids area right across from where my tank is, they put a movie on for the kids! I think it was called “Finding Nemo” or something like that. It inspired me! So later that night, I noticed that my tank lid was left open a crack. So, I put my skill to the test! So there is a filter drain pipe, and it gets turned off at night, I decided that was my best option! But, I was just so curious about the ocean. Later on when I arrived in the ocean, I met up with some of my past friends from the aquarium who have also escaped, some that escaped right after I left said that everyone is going insane because of your absence. Another thing the “humans” said was people are worried considering your are one of the most popular attractions. In the end I really didn’t care! There are so many other octopi out there! They can do whatever they want! Heck, they can even replace me! This is my new home! I’m staying here and that’s final!
2 WEEKS LATER….. I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE AQUARIUM!! THERE ARE TOO MANY SHARKS HERE!! HELP MEEEE!!!

  6. My Escape as an Octopus

I was ready to leave. I wanted to go to the ocean and swim for as long as I want to, not as long as my tank. I was tired of people taking pictures of me, and that dumb flash from people’s camera.I was done! Luckily someone left the lid of my tank open, I’m leaving. I know I can do this, if uncle slipped through a hole the size of a coin, I can fit through this opening. The only thing is, I have security to deal with. Oh wait! I have tentacles, I can through something. I grabbed a rock from inside my tank and tossed it. It hit a wall, all the security guards ran to go see what it was. I wasn’t sure what to do after I got out. I walked as fast as I could. My tentacles were louder than I thought. One the security guards yells “What was that?”. So I tried to run, not to long after I started running I found a drain pipe. I figured,”I’m at an aquarium, this will probably lead to the ocean.” It took me longer than I anticipated, but I finally made it to the ocean. I was free to swim for ever, and not have to worry about tourists with the camera flash. I could find other fish to swim with. I was free.

  9. Splish! Splash! Splish! Splash! It was the middle of the night. Inky the octopus is trapped in this tank! I don't hate humans or anything. Wait! What is that? Usually my tank lid is closed but my tank lid was wide open. I could escape and see what the world is like. I just can't help it. I´m a five star curios octopus. As I crawled out of my tank I could see an exit.
¨Hey Inky, what are you doing,¨? Said a voice.
It was my friend blotchy the octopus. He was in a another tank so he couldn't see the wonders of the world with me.
¨Hey Blotchy, I´m just going sight-seeing the world. Wanna come with me,¨?
¨You do realize I am stuck in this tank,¨ replied Blotchy.
I walked about a mile in octopus miles across the aquarium. I felt sad about not saying farewell to Blotchy.
    ¨Farewell Blotchy¨ I said.
Now it was time to see what the world awaits for me. I saw a disk that said OCEAN DRAIN. It had a small hole in it. ItÅ› a good thing octopuses do not have bones. I could squeeze into an opening of a coin. I rapidly squeezed into the drain hole. It took me a while before I could hear a mess.
    ¨Ding-a-Ding,¨.
It came from the disk I entered into. Finally freedom to see the world. I am one curios tentacle creature. It was not long before I entered the waters of salt.
    ¨Run away,¨ yelled some sardines.
Inky is still a scary. Since I escaped the tank there is a hope I might come back.

    Inky the Octopus

Hi i’m Inky the Octopus and let’s be clear here I did not spray any ink. But I did escape. I use to live in a National Aquarium in New Zealand but now I am free! I live in a big ocean along with other octopi and fish. I escaped during the middle of the night. No one was around. It was a good time to slip away without leaving a trace. I was getting tired of being locked up in a cage and wanted to see the outside world. So I slipped through a crack in my cage and down a drain pipe that lead me right to the ocean. SPLASH!!! As soon as I hit the water I knew I was home! I admit I do miss being there with my buddie Blotchy and getting all the attention. I made a lot of new friends and who knows maybe one day i’ll slip back and visit!

  12. Inky's perspective about his escape from the aquarium. Inky was curious what was happening on the outside world so he decide to get out of his tank. The tank lid was open so he slid right through it and climb on the walls so he would not leave any trace of him. He also turn into the color of the wall so he wouldn't get caught. He found a pipe that he never went before that he could fit through. He went through and he end up at the sea. Inky was happy he was back where he belongs.

Even an octopus is curious. I was curious of the outside world and I wanted to know what was out there.I’m inky and tonight i was going to make my great escape. I thought of many ways to do it and then I thought of a plan. It was about the middle of the night and that was when I was going to escape. It was I was going to slither down a long drainpipe. I had no bones, so I can fit perfectly in the drainpipe. When I got to the drainpipe I heard someone say something, But the men talk so loud you can hear them a mile away.
“Did you see the really amazing squid.” Then I heard then walking to my tank. When I heard this I knew they were going to come to my tank to see me. Then when they realize that I am missing, they will try to find me. Then I heard one of them say “The squid is missing.” I heard foot step right over my head. When I got to the end of the drainpipe. Then I saw one of the men. Right before he looked at me I jumped into the sea. Splash! I made it. I was free to explore the world.

I was so surprised and said out loud"Am I dead!!!" Of course...." But I cut him off and said I am o gosh" But then he said" You cut me off Inky I meant Of course not" Out of know where a shark came and startled me. When I notice that i was a dream. So I escaped and I found out my sweet home that i now stay in. Until next time Aquarium.

I woke up to the sound of two people talking in the middle of the night and found myself In a bag being carried by someone. So for about thirty minutes of fighting and struggling I was free. I was ready to make a run for it and try to get away but then the mean stranger started chasing me screaming.
    “ GET BACK HERE!”
In horror I ran for the closest thing I could find a small drain pipe but before I could slip into it he tried to grab one of my testacles in anger and frustration I sprayed my ink into his eyes blinding and hurting him. Then I slid towards the pipe and finally made it in . Now I roam around the bottoms of the sea with my fellow octopus living a wonderful life but still hoping one day I would see my fish tank.

  19. Hello, I am Inky, The octopus that used to live in The National Aquarium in New Zealand. I want to tell you about my sneaky getaway from my aquarium. First, of course, I had to do a show for the humans so they wouldn’t think I was up to anything. Second, I wait until everybody leaves the aquarium. Third, I wait till the security or any other personal watching isn’t paying attention, then I slide through the top of my aquarium.
I was able to slide through because someone had the bad mistake of not putting the full cover on top of my tank.
Next, I slide across the floor because since I was in water the whole day, I am very slippery.
But, I still need to find water before I suffocate. I was starting to feel a bit sick, but then I found a drainpipe to squeeze through.
Now, you’re probably wondering, how did I fit through that, you’re so big. Well, octopuses don’t have any bones, so we can fit through extremely tight spaces up to a pipe the size of a coin. After eventually squeezing through the drainpipe, I finally had my freedom. I can go anywhere in the sea. Although I didn’t like being there, I still might come to visit.

  20. Inky the octopus and The great escape
Hello my name is Inky the octopus and I live in the National Aquarium in New Zealand. I really love it here but it’s just sooooooo boring. The same things happen every day. Sure I get to see new people but they keep on coming and coming until you know everything about them. I wish I was back in the ocean, everyday something new happened. Remember everything like it was yesterday, I got in fights everyday and always won! When the fisherman founded, I was mad but face didn’t show it. They said I was rough looking whatever that means.
Right now I’m making an escape plan. The aquarium workers know I’m smart but they don’t know that I’m smart as a college student. I got it! When the aquarium workers feed me I’ll make sure that the top doesn’t close. Now I just have to make a plan to get out of the tank without being notice. Whatever I think about that later. Here come the workers.
“Inky here’s your food” said the worker
Oh boy! That my cue. I hope I don’t mess up
    PLOP! .
“Hey man make sure you close the top.” reminded the manger
    “Yeah, yeah.” mumble the worker.
Oh no! I have to go fast and grab a rock to make sure it doesn’t close. Okay. Ready, set, aim and throw.
    Thump!
I got! Now I wait for the lights to go out in three, two and one.
    Voom!
    Done! Okay. TIme get out.
    Plop!
That was a little louder than I expected.
Plop, Plop, Plop I should just slide instead. No sound maybe tracks but no sound.
    Clip Clap
Someone or something is coming. I’m going to get caught! They checked my tank. I hid in a dark corner.
“ Inky has gone missing I repeat gone missing!” said the guard.
Red lights were flashing. The door was closing.
    Eeeeeeeeeee! Splash!
I made it! Free at last. Now life is complete.

    THE CASE OF INKY’S ESCAPE

My name is Inky and I am smart I did escape the National Aquarium, but I just wanted so see what was going on outside the world. I didn’t wanted to be in this tank anymore being seen by people that they are curious about me I wanted to see the world and also Poseidon of his underworld castle. You know how I escape well when the Aquarium was close for the day I saw a drainpipe that was going to the ocean so I thought about and I decided to escape. I was glad that I don’t have bones but I did had a brain and knowledge to escape. So when I was free I didn’t want to go back into that lazy tank and wait until kids and adults see me what I do. I went to Poseidon’s world it was amazing, beautiful,AWESOME! Until…. one day I was trap into a crayfish pot a local fisherman found the octopus that was lost from 10 years and he also read it from the paper next to the boat. I couldn’t believe it I’m going to that lazy place but HOME SWEET HOME, Rob Yarrell was happy to see me. The workers now believed that octopuses can do something I could escape again and go to Florida to live there for my whole life but that will be another day.

There I was trapped in a bottle not knowing what to do. A big net pulled me out of the water. I thought I was going to get killed or eaten. And some one let me out and they started to chase me so I ran to the quickest thing I could and the closest thing was the drain pipe so I took a run for it and got in there and I I surprisingly I fit
    *GET BACK HERE*
someone yelled as I got closer to the drain pipe..Splash, Splash the drain took me somewhere where I did not want to go to. I was in the middle of the ocean.I tried to get back as quick as I could but when I tried to get back in water pushed me back out.

  23. Inkies Escape
A few days ago, I escaped the National Aquarium in New Zealand. How did I do it you ask.I am a very curious boy, and wish to explore everything. I am an Octopus, and I don’t have any bones. This allows me to squeeze myself into really tight spaces. That night, I noticed that my cell cage was a smidge open. So, I climbed out of my watery prison, and slid through the small opening. All of the world’s Octopuses are escape artist’s, like me for instance. As I was free from my cell, I slithered upon the floor, and found a drain pipe that led me straight to the ocean.
Most tight spaces I can squeeze myself in and out of. I was very small at the time. About the size of a football to be exact. I kind of miss the ocean when I was at the Aquarium. I was Brought by a local fisherman, who took me in at the Aquarium. When I was out of the pipe, PLOP, I was free. Free in the Glorious ocean. I might miss my home, but I love my temporary home better.

Bang! What was that? When I got up I saw that the lid on my tank was open. I thought to myself should I take this risk… After 5 minute I made my decision I am going to be free! First, I climbed to the top of the glass. Then, I slid down the side of my tank and I traveled across the floor. When I was on the floor I saw a drain pipe and I went for it.
When I got to the bottom of the pipe I knew I was free!! After that I didn’t know what to do so i just kept swimming. Thirty minutes past I saw some more octopus, what was that? They got closer I realized it was my family. They came at me screaming, “he’s home!’’

I was once swimming at the bottom of the ocean and then I got stuck in a pot. I was so scared because I didn't know what to do, then suddenly someone caught my foot with a fish hook. I was slowly rising to the top, could this be the end was I about to die. I wake up in a fish tank at an aquarium people are looking at me and taking pictures so I hide. Over the days I start getting used to the routine, and the food they feed me. Over time I started to miss my family and one day I thought of it, the perfect escape, I would wait till they accidentally left my lid open then I would leave down the drain pipe and reunite with my family. The day finally came I said by to blotchy and left, I jumped out of the tank, SPLASH, i start crawling to the pipe and then I finally made it I was free I could go home. Although I could stay I might go home.

    Curious Octopus finds his Escape
Hi. I am Inky the octopus who escaped from the National Aquarium in New Zealand. I slid threw the lid and out the tank and slithered down a long drainpipe and vanished into the sea. I was curious of what the outside world would be liked. I was always a bit of a surprise octopus. I am about the size of a football and a bit of an “unusually” smart octopus. Splash! Finally I am out of the drainpipe and out onto the sea. Wow the outside world is way more different than being in the tank.
