The Characters in this book right now (Touching Spirit Bear) are Edwin, Garvey, and Cole. Setting of where they are is back on the island but this time Cole is going to build his own shelter sell his stuff for money that he will use to get to get tools. The problem right now in this story is Cole's anger, it's getting to the best of him. The Solution that Edwin tries is carrying a rock up a hill that has channeled his ancestors.
In the story so far Cole,Edwin, and Garvey are staying at the island but leaving soon before it is winter. Cole and Edwin carried a rock up the hill to show that they help there ancestors along the way. But after Cole rolled the rock down the hill to roll away his anger. They danced the Whale but Cole danced the wolf while Garvey and Edwin we're sleeping. I think the solution at the end of the book is, when Cole realizes the change he has been through and thinks he can start over and be a great guy.

Recently, his mother told him she had changed, and would care more for Cole. He was going to jail, until Garvey and Edwin convinced The Circle to put Cole into their custody.The only difference is that Cole has to sell is valuables to afford the food rations and supplies because The Circle would not fund any money. The problem is that Cole can be stubborn and angry. So far, I think the solution is him learning to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, and respect nature. For example, like being alive or making the most out of a feast or a dance. I think Edwin and Garvey are helping Cole reduce his anger because Edwin takes him every morning to soak in a cold pond to clear his mind. Then they would get out of the pond and take a rock as his ancestors up the hill and then roll it downhill to release his anger.

Touching spirit bear central theme The central theme of the novel Touching Spirit Bear by Ben mikaelsen is forgiveness, forgiveness means to forgive others for their wrongs. In the beginning Cole was hit by his dad. And eventually the more he (Cole) got hit the more bad he (Cole) got. In the middle of the story the author (Ben mikaelsen) added in a shimmer of good inside him.
