Aiden In the beginning of the story tree ear is a orphan living under the bridge. He lost his family and is poor. Right now he is not happy because all he has to eat for breakfast is rice and marrow from a chicken bone, but he calls it a feast. Over time he grew to want to stay with crane man. But when the sickness ended tree ear wanted to stay with crang-man because he had been with him for long time an felt comfort. Min was examining the box and wondered how he did it before Min showed up and shouted at hm for thieving his pottery. Tree-ear dropped the box and now it’s broken. Tree-ear explained himself that he would never lie or steal as that would bring him down to the level of a dog. Min believes him and mutters under his breath that he lost three days of work. Tree-ear hears this and purposes that he helps him make pottery to pay off what he broke. Min agrees after a lot of convincing from Tree-ear. Min says that Tree-ear owes him 9 days of work. Tree-ear leaves Min’s house excited that he finally has a real job. Later, at the bridge Tree-ear tells Crane-man. One day on throwing day, Tree-ear watches a man that goes by the name of Min. Min is very good at pottery and he sings in throwing day when he makes pots and jugs. Once on another throwing day, Tree-ear visits Min at his house, but Min was not there, so Tree-ear goes into Min’s house and looks at his pottery. He is interested at a box with smaller boxes in it. Right at that moment, he saw Min. Min was angry with Tree-ear for breaking the clay box. But Min forgave him and Tree-ear asked if he could help him make the box again and Min said yes. Now Tree-ear has some actual work to do and he tells Crane-man. He is really happy that he can do pottery because he always wanted to do pottery.

Tree ear was named after a mushroom that live without parents, the name fits perfectly because Tree ear lived without parents. So tree ear was brought to the village to live with his uncle but he disappears, so they take him to the monks but they can't take him because of so many sick people. The monks take them to crane man that lives under a bridge

DeleteIn the story a single shard there was boy who is a orphan, his name is tree ear and a man took him to a village to give him to his uncle but his uncle wasn't there anymore so he took tree ear to the mucks and they couldn't keep him because there was a sickness going around so the mucks took him to the man under the bridge. Tree ear lived with him for 10 years, In the beginning of the story tree ear is grateful for what food he has. Around the middle of the story tree ear had a chance to eat but instead he watch the min do his work. He was much more interested in min and his work then eating. At the end of the story tree ear had a chance to eat again but instead he snuck in to min workshop and looked at min’s work then min walk in on tree ear and said thief! Tree ear bow down to min and explained that he wasn't a thief he was just admiring his work, accidently tree ear broke one of min’s work and it took three days to make so tree ear said he will work for him. Min told him that since it took him three days for him to make that he had to work for nine days. Tree ear got what he wanted and so did min.

ReplyDeleteThe book called A Single Shard there is a boy name tree era and is an orphan he was sent to under a bridge with a man named Craneman and is trying to take care of him. This man was his father figure because his parents died and the monks took him to craneman and that's because there was a sickness in the monks temple so they took him to craneman. And they’ve been together ever since, then one day tree ear found a bone and some rice and he ate the bone marrow and said that it was a feast. That tells me that he really didn’t have money or was really poor. Then one day he came upon a man making pottery and was amazed and gasped very quietly when he saw the man making pottery. Then several days had passed and the man was not there so tree ear look and had the guts to go and see the work of art min/ the pottery man so he tiptoed to the shelf were there were many works of art and then saw a chicken and said “maybe i’ll get that egg for food “then didn’t he kept going forward towards the shelf then he found a box and was puzzled and then opened it but there was even more boxes in that box so he openevery box until he got to a small one opened and then then min came and said thief!but the tree ear bows down and apologized then dropped it on the floor then they get into an argument and then min says i want you to work for me and help me make a new pot for 9 days.

ReplyDeleteIn the story ¨A Single Shard¨ there is a boy named Tree ear, Tree ear changes from the beginning of the story to the end because in the beginning he found out that he was an orphan that was sent to live with his uncle after his parents died but his uncle had left. He has lived under a bridge with a man called Crane man ever since he was 2 and still lives there, he is 12 now and he eats marrow from a chicken bone for breakfast he called it a feast. One day this very hungry boy setout to go get some food when he came across a man out side and he was doing something strange, he was making pottery Tree ear forgot all about being hungry and just watched the old man for a while. After a few minutes past Tree ear decided that he wanted to try making pottery. Another day he went back there was no one there so he went inside he saw a case with some pots and a tiny duck that could fit in his hand he pick up a box that was made of clay but then he heard a shout thief it was the old man he tried to explain why he was in there and that he wasn't a thief. The old man understood because Tree ear broke the box he asked if he could make pottery to pay for what he did. The old man told him that he could he was so EXCITED he couldn't wait to go tell Crane man what had happened. Tree ear changed because in the beginning he was hungry and depressed but in the end he was excited.
Mia Tree-ear changes in the beginning of the story to the end as a result of the events. In the beginning Tree-ear is an orphan living under the bridge with with Crane-man because he grew up without his parents. His parents brought Tree-ear to the village to live with his uncle, but his uncle left. He has lived under the bridge since he was 2 years so he is about 12 because 10 years have passed. He is thankful for the little things because one morning he ate marrow from the inside of a bone and ate rice. The next day Tree-ear watched Min, (which is someone who is a master at pottery). Tree-ear watches skillfully at how Min would get chunks of clay and with his foot he would spin the base of the wheel. Min was finished with his vase, until he smashed it on the wheel, feeling ashamed. Tree-ear was in shock because he thought from his perspective it looked great. Several days have passed when Tree-ear last visited Min. This time Tree-ear went in Min’s house to go see the things he’s made with clay. He saw a duck and then he found a plain box. He opened it and inside the box there was another box and another. He asked himself how did Min cut them so perfectly? All of a sudden Min shouts and Tree-ear drops the box. Tree-ear was begging and told him the truth about coming to admire his work because he was no thief. Min let Tree-ear go, ………………

ReplyDeleteHow does Tree ear change from the beginning of the story to the end as a result of the events? In the beginning we can see Tree ear live under bridge with the man call Crane-man. From there we know that he is poor, live without parents. Then when Tree ear ask Crane-man how old is he, Crane-man show he the wall on the bridge it has deep scratches. Crain-man explain that he keep counting Tree ear’s age by this make mark on the wall. There are ten mark on the wall, but Crain-man explain exactly Tree ear is 12 years old. Next, we know Tree ear’s past. After his parent were died. The man, who is pay from the kindly monk for bring Tree ear to Ch’ulp’o, they know Tree ear has an uncle live at here. When they came Ch’ulp’o his uncle is left. The monk can take Tree ear and leave him at bridge with Crane-man when he’s 2 years old. And Tree ear doesn’t want to find his uncle, he just want to stay with Crane-man. Now we know he doesn’t want to has family just live peacefully. In the sentence “ Breakfast that morning was a feast” rice and marrow from chicken bone. That mean he happy with every little things he has. He excited watched Min make pottery.

A man brought Tree-ear to the village Ch’ulp’o to live with his Uncle after his parents died. Then his Uncle has left and Monk took him with Crane-man. Then when Tree-ear was with Crane-man he was curious about his family. Tree-ear did not went to look for his parents so then that morning he had breakfast that was a feast for him but the only thing he had was rice, and marrow from chicken.

In the beginning Tree ear was currious about his family since his parents died and his uncle left the town and he was living with Crane-Man who he is living with under a bridge. He wanted to know about his fathers trade and other stuff about his family. In the middle of the story Tree ear is grateful for the little they have because he described there breakfast as a feast when they had rice and marrow from chicken bone. After that he went to go watch Min which is a master potter on “Throwing” day. As he watched he described how the potter was making the pottery, “Tree ear watched the miracle” which referred to watching how he made the pottery. At the end Tree ear saw that there was no one at Min’s workshop so he went in to see the pottery eventually Min found him and startled
