The theme of the text “Lizzie Bright and Buckminster Boy” is that people can find strength to overcome challenges. For example, the text states that Turner has trouble controlling the oars against the choppy water, but he won’t stop because of his strength to save Lizzie. Another example is when Turner finds his strength to go on after looking into the whale’s eyes. Finally, the last example of Turner finding strength was his fear of the whales capsizing his boat. In conclusion, people can find strength to overcome challenges.

  3. In the story “Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy” the theme is people can find strength to overcome challenges. I can prove this by finding details from the text. One the detail is that turner is in a pickle and is in trouble controlling the oars in choppy water. Plus he did that by himself so he got the strength to do so. Another detail from the text is that the tide causes Turner to miss the island and he tries as he rows toward the point. He found the strength to do that and he fought the wave. Another detail from the text is that he is afraid the boat will capsize and he almost panics when whales surface in the water and show him the way. So that's how I know the theme of the story is people can find strength to overcome challenges.

In the book/passage kid named turner had a difficult time controlling the oars in choppy water. Then he has a girl that plays with him and teaches him about the water, then the girl falls and then turner takes a boat and tries to an island then fails and misses it. Then he tries to go back but it's too late but then a whale pops up and distracts turner and takes him to the island he wants to be at.

The theme of ¨Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy¨ is people can find strength to overcome challenges. Having strength to overcome challenges means that anybody can find power in something to take down a challenge. In the story, Turner helped Lizzie on a boat even though he had trouble with the boat because of the choppy water. This shows that he was having a hard time. The water pushed Turner away from the island but he keeps trying to make it to help Lizzie. He passed through whales and when one came close he looked into the eyes. When Turner looked into the whales eyes, he found strength and courage and he kept trying to get to the place he needed to go. In conclusion, Turner finds his strength in the whales eyes to help him overcome challenges.

In the story “Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy” the theme is people can find strength to overcome challenges. What that means is that you can overcome any obstacle. In the text it states Turner had a hard time controlling the oars in the choppy water. But in the text it says that he summoned all the strength he had and drained all the energy he had.It also states The tide caused turner to miss the island. But it also stated that he was thirsty and more than a little hungry but without panic of hopelessness.Lastly it also states when he looked into the eyes his arms felt strong and there was no panic. In conclusion people can find the strength to overcome any challenges no matter what.

  10. In the story I read the theme of its is that you find more strength when you face the music in other words when you face a challenges. When the girl who gets hurt because when she falls off the cliff the boy wants to help so he rows a boat to a different island put he was way to tired but he summon all his strength when he find the whales and follow them to his destination so i think the theme is never stop trying.

The Theme of the story is that people can find strength to overcome challenges, for example one detail is that Lizzy get hurt and hits her head so she needs to get home and get help from her family. Then turner starts rowing to her house but it is very hard to do it with the waves. Then exhausted and then he saw a whale afraid of the boat will capsize and almost panicked but when he saw the whale gaze he summoned more strength. This is why I think the theme of the story is that people can find strength to overcome challenges.

Have you ever had to find strength to overcome challenges because in this story there is a whole lot of it. In the beginning of the story. Turner has trouble controlling the oreos in the chappy water. Then the tried causes turner to miss the island, and he tries as he rowes toward the point. But then later afraid the boat will capsize turner almost panics when whales surface in the water. So in conclusion i think that the theme is people can find strength to overcome challenges.

  13. The theme of the story, “Lizzie Light (I have no idea what the rest is)”, is finding strength to overcome challenges. For example, Lizzie was trying to climb, her friend Turner startles her and she falls and cracks her head. Turner brings her to a boat and starts going to an island for help. He has trouble controlling oars in choppy water. The tide causes Turner to miss the island, and he tires as he rows toward the point. After a while, afraid the boat will capsize, Turner almost panics when whales surface the water. A whale was slightly popping out of the water. Turner looks at the whale’s eyes and feels calm and relaxed. He then rows to the island, not giving up hope, and makes it. In conclusion, the theme of the story all goes back to people finding strength to overcome challenges.

  14. michelle In the story, lizzie bright and the buckminister boy, I think people can find strength to overocme challenges,I know this beacuse in the story the tide causes tuner to miss the lands, and he tries as he rows towards the point.I also think that they can overcome challlenges beacuse they were having a difficault time rowing the boat.in the story it also. says that she panicks when she sees whales coming closer in the surface of the water,I think people can find stregth to overcome challenges beacuse they coudnt row the boat so they has to use strength to row it.in the story it also says they slowly the whale did not stop rocking, and the seas clamed, and the rythm of the swells took hold again.over all I think that anyone can find strength to overocme challenges.

The theme of the Story ¨Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster boy¨ is people can find strength to overcome challenges. A detail that supports the theme of the story is when the buckminster was feebly he summoned all the strength he could and rowed the boat, not even trying to wake Lizzie up because he can't speak and row at the same time. The Buckminster boy was also scared because he kept thinking that the bout was gonna capsize, turner almost panics when whales surface in the water. Even though they went through a lot in the text it says ¨his arms felt strong. There was no panic in him.¨ This shows that people can find strength to overcome challenges.

In the story ¨Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy¨ the theme is people can find strength to overcome challenges. I know this because in the text it states ¨The tide causes Turner to miss the island and he tries as he rows toward the point. But he turned into it anyway, rowing with all the might he could summon in his drained arms, pushing back with his with legs and grunting with each pull, not even calling to Lizzie because he could not speak and pull at the same time¨. Another reason how I know this is because it also states ¨Turner was first scared when he saw the whale pop up next to him but when he looked into its eyes he found the strength to save Lizzie

The main idea of the story “ Lizzie Bright and the buckminister boy”, is people can find strength to overcome challenges. Turner and his parents who are ministers move near an island where Turner makes a new friend, Lizzie. One day Lizzie gets hurt and it’s up to Turner to use all his might to save her by rowing a boat to retrieve her to another island. He told Lizzie to keep her eyes open. While rowing for a long time Turner was exhausted from using all his power he could summon in his drained arms, pushing back with his arms and grunting. For example, Turner has trouble controlling the oars in choppy water, which causes turner to miss the island because of the tide. Afraid the boat will capsize, Turner almost panics, when a whale appears in the water. He looks into the eye of the whale and his arms felt strong again, there was no panic in him. It’s like the whale and Turner had a connection. The theme is people can find strength to overcome challenges.
