Rapids

Don't just go with the flow, take some dares through the rapids. What does this mean to you?

I think this means that it’s boring to live a life without new things, so it’s fine to take risks to make it more interesting. I tried this sport called volleyball which was new to me. It made me feel happy and tired. I do it every time my dad comes to the park with us. I don’t think I will be doing something out of my comfort zone anytime soon. Isaac

This phrase means to me that if everyone is doing something you don’t have to follow suit and do it too. You can sometimes do what you think is right and maybe try something new or risky. Also for example if everyone is sitting on one side of the roller coaster you don’t have to get on that side you can get on the other side. Finally, it is good to understand the times when you should follow suit and the times you don’t have to follow suit. I have taken a few dares through the rapids. One thing I have done out of my comfort zone was when I went to Knott’s Berry Farm, I hate water in my face, so when we went on the log ride I wasn’t thrilled in fact I was the complete opposite. Now after doing it it is my new favorite ride, and I do it every time we go. Another time I went out of my comfort zone was again when I went to Knott’s Berry Farm, but this time literally on the ride called Calico River Rapids. When we got off we were soaked, but we had some much fun we did it again. This is the way I interpret this phrase, and ways I have stepped out of my comfort zone.

To me this means that you shouldn't just let life go as it is, letting whatever happen to you and going along with it. You could speak up about something you’re unsure of, instead of staying quiet. You can go somewhere exciting or do things like skydiving and climbing. I myself have taken a few dares, but they are very small in my opinion. For example, I tried to learn Russian at a time. I'm still going to, not for any particular reason, but I only know two words which is Fraun and Mann (Might be German actually, I can't remember anything other than those two pronouns) Fraun means woman, Mann means man. It's kind of hard since multiple times I've stopped for months and then picked up learning the language again. For some reason I cannot bring myself to finish anything at all unless I am extremely passionate about it or like it very much. For example reading “It” is a bit hard, but I loved the movies and the book is pretty interesting, so I continue reading 100 pages a day to finish all 1153 pages.

A few days ago I did something that not all people would do. I went out of my comfort zone and tried to hike Mt.Baldy. It was really challenging and my dad and I almost made it to the top and we made it past not all people get to. We will go back again and make it to the top.Aaron

  5. What this means to me is that you shouldn’t let life just pass by, you can take some risks and try something new. A time I’ve taken a risk was when I had to socialize when I visited my cousins house and had to meet his friends. It felt good because they turned out to be really nice people and they understood how I felt about meeting new people. I think I might do this again because socializing is way out of my comfort zone but there might be some people that will be very nice to hang around with. -Vanessa

Don’t just go with the flow, take some dares through the rapids. What does this mean to you? Have you ever taken a risk (tried something new?) How did it make you feel? Would you do it again? Is there anything you’re thinking about doing that may be ``Outside your comfort zone?’’
    This means to me that

Dont just go with the flow, take some dares through the rapids
This means to me, dont just take the easy way, challenge yourself take some risks. Flow is kinda like the plain easy way, and the rapids is the obstacles, the challenges! For example, if your reading a book that is in the middle of your range… try going more above!

To me this means to take some risks and don't stay on your daily routine and get out of your comfort zone. One time I got out of my comfort zone was during winter break when i went rock climbing i am very good at 20 feet high stuff at the park but that was double that and it was very fun. The experience made me tired and sweaty but it so much fun . I would definitely recommend and i would do it again

  10. I think this phrase means that to truly live your life, you can’t always stay inside of your comfort zone. Doing the same thing every day makes it easy to fall into monotonous routine. It is essential to take risks. However, there is a careful balance between always going with the flow and taking too many risks. Eventually, this balance must be found in order to have a meaningful life.
When I was younger, I decided to audition for a musical at a local venue. I was very frightened to try it, but musicals are now a big part of my life. This shows that taking risks can pay off. Maggie

To me it means that sometimes you can take risks. Something that is out of my comfort zone is talking to people. So I'm going to start doing that. And start to take risks.

  12. I have read this quote over and over again in the book “365 days of Wonder.” For me this means that don’t just go with your normal and ordinary routine, but you should at least try something new, something out of your comfort zone. In these 12 years of my life, I have taken many risks some were not worth the risk and some, well you can’t say the same thing about theis. The most recent risk I took was in science camp. The Gigantic Juice Boxes, our group name, were on the rock climbing part. I didn’t want to because , In the past I did it without ropes on a little rock climbing wall and never did it again after I fell. Later when it was my turn, I decided that I was just going to try and come back, but like many of you saw me, I didn’t and I went to the top. It hurt a little bit, but not going would hurt more than that. I felt pretty good about doing it, and lately I have been looking for places where I can go rock climbing. Many times before I have taken risk that cost in injury because I fell. One year ago I was in a baby shower with all of my friends “Sonora Elementary School” and they were going to the park. I wanted to go but I felt like my parents were not going to let me go, But then a friend told me I should and so I did and let me go. In conclusion, taking risk that don't hurt others or yourself are fine.

I think this means that try something new sometimes. Then you won't do the same original thing everyday. Trying something new may give you a new and fun experience for you or anyone else. A time I took a risk is when I went climbing up a mountain at Irvine Park. I was very excited when I got to the top because I have never climbed a mountain before. I would do this again if my family went with me. That would make it more fun for me and my family. I'm thinking of maybe eating breakfast as something new to try because I never have enough time to eat breakfast.

What this means to me is that you can always switch up a routine in your life. An example would be when I started watching horror movies. It all started a few summers ago when we were on a road trip and there wasn’t anything I could possibly do besides look out the window. I saw that my sister was watching something on her phone and I asked if I could watch and she said sure. It wasn’t until I realized that it was Insidious that I started to look away but every once in awhile I would look because I would get bored. In the end I found myself thinking that the movie was

In my opinion i think it means to try something new like a new sport or just add a new activity out of our comfort zone. A time I tried something new was when I went pilot cup it was my first year doing soccer right after school at 2.30 i had to go do soccer practice.

  19. To me this means that you need to try new things every once and awhile. You can't always keep doing the same thing you should not keep to yourself you should open up to new things and activities. New things can lead you to new hobbies and you can connect with people who have the same interests as you. If you like these new activities you can continue them, but if not you can just move on to the next one activity that you might enjoy. One time i tried to see if I would enjoy baking and now i love to bake!

This means to me that I should take risks in different situations. It makes life better. I have taken
a risk. I used to be a soccer girl and I still am just not as much as I used to be. I started to play
basketball and I hated it because of my coach, but than I got used to him yelling and I got better.
Now I play with a new team for travel ball but I am still going to play for the city. It made me feel
bettter of myself playing more than one sport. I would do it again, my sister plays softball so
maybe I will get into softball and basketball. Something that I am thinkng of doing is to go back to
universal studio at halloween time again. The last time I went here I was little and I got scared so I punched the guy in the costume becaause he creeped up to me but I didn't punch him hard I aplogized and then ran away.
