The World Outside

Go outside sometime today and describe the scenery. What do you see, hear, smell, and feel (um, don't taste anything unless it's a picnic). You can even write a Haiku poem that follows the 5 - 7 - 5 syllable format.

  1. I went outside and saw cars parked, and the really tall trees. I heard the birds chirping and the tall trees swaying in the wind. The smell was almost salty but not. I then felt the cold air hit me.

  2. Yesterday I went outside and I witnessed the amazing sunrise of when the sky was dark and then became slowly consumed in orange light. After that I went on a walk and I enjoyed it even more because I took my dog, but we did practice social distancing. As soon as I stepped outside I could feel the rays of sun beating down on me, and the sound of birds flying through the sky. The smell of people barbecuing fresh meat on their grills. I believe that going on a walk makes me happier than any video game could.

  3. I went outside to my backyard. I saw my dog peeing next to a bush, then I heard my dog barking. I saw red roses, white roses, rosemary, and a few other plants which I forgot were called. I i’m not really sure how to describe the smell, I didn’t really smell anything. I started to feel the cold air surrounding me so I went back inside. -Vanessa

  4. I went outside and I saw my neighbor walking her dog, Benji. I did not smell like anything and I did not see any cars passing by. It was really cold and I was not wearing a sweater. It was not really windy and I did not see any people.

  5. I went outside this morning and I saw lots of people outside walking. Then I was going to go back to the house but then I heard lots of cars turn on to go to work. When I go outside I don't not smell anything outside. Sometimes I feel wind blowing on my face and when the wind is blowing on my face it feels weird. I feel someone is blowing at my face.Edwin

  8. I went outside. The sun's light, one of the important thing's that we need, was making the day brighter, and helping things grow. The clouds above, looked as though they were a type of cotton candy. The blue sky, the color of the sea, mysterious, and with many life forms beneath the surface. the sidewalks and pavement, a boring old, black and cement gray. The grass, a lovely bright green. Isaac

  10. I opened my window to take a peek at my surroundings. The smell of flowers linger in the air. The roses in my front yard seem to beam back at my smile. The daisies bloom and shine with the color of an autumn sunset. I go outside and feel the damp grass tickle the soles of my feet. The sky is clear with only a couple clouds in sight. The palm tree in my front yard reflects the bright sunlight. Everything is so chaotic yet so still at the same time. Life seems like just a doorway of surrealness that we pass throughout our time on this Earth.

  11. I went outside today and saw 2 tall trees blowing in the wind. It was sunny, yet cold outside. It was kind of wacky weather. Our birds in the backyard were awake and just chilling on one of the sticks. Most of the people in my neighborhood were still in their house. I also saw 2 big columns of cars before I went back inside the house.

  13. Giselle,
I looked outside my window and heard the gardeners. I smelled food being made and saw flowers in the neighbors backyard. I feel the screen that was by the window. It felt very grainy when I touched it. I also saw a squirrel on top of a house. I felt the hot sun and the breeze that came in. A Lot of people are starting to go outside because they have no school so they have more time to go outside.

The wind starts to blow furiously. The leaves start floating in the wind. I hear the taping of people’s footsteps as they walk on the sidewalk. The birds start chirping as they fly off. The wind slows down. Everything is calm. Until my sisters come outside to play.
